2011.02.23 : Pondera Architecture has been awarded the contract to design the Spokane Valley Fire Department's new Fire Station #6, located at 6306 East Sprague Avenue. This new station will replace the existing one – built back in the 60s – and will be a single-story structure roughly 7,600sf in size. It's designed to accommodate service for the SFVD's needs for the next 50 years, and features a double drive-through truck bay and working/living spaces for two four-man crews.
2011.01.31 : Pondera Architecture has finished the design for Aunt Bee's Honeycomb Daycare, located at 1215 Thayer Drive in Richland. Work is scheduled to be completed in April for this 2,900sf conversion of existing office space. The daycare will accommodate 60-65 children, from infants to toddlers to 10-year-olds. Design highlight: Pondera's thorough code analysis revealed the building owner could add fire barrier walls instead of a complete sprinkler system, which translated into a savings of $55,000.
